Print Methods for Garments:
DTG (Direct to Garment) - uses water based ink and is digitally placed on the garment using a professional high quality machine and treating process. The advantage of this print is a softer feel to the print, high color content including photographs, highly specialized and detailed art printed with no registration issues, no minimum quantities, saleable art (smalls don't have to be the same print size as 3x) and with the newer technology wearability is long lasting.
DTF (Direct to Film) - uses similar process as above but the image is printed on film and then heat transferred to the garment. This offers most of the same ADVANTAGES as above but the feel of the print has a slightly thicker feel and smoother. This method is best for poly rich fabrics and hard to reach places of print. It also works well on non wearables such as tote bags and koozies.
SCREEN PRINTING - This is the oldest method and has stood the test of time. It uses plastisol ink which is pressed through a screen onto the garment. This is the best method for very high quantity orders, and sometimes single or two color prints. Screen printing if done correctly will last the life of the garment but as with all prints will distress over time. Some garments are printed with distress deliberately and look vintage. We do not screen print in house but we have trusted qualified contractors and we control the process, art and quality of each job.
Printing can be unique to each order so standard templates don't work well in our business model. The best thing you can do is email call or text us with the specifics of your order. The easiest and best print jobs should include the following elements: Type of Garment Desired, Color of Garment, Quantity and Sizes of Garments and last but most important is good art! See ART below for more on that.
Art is the most important element of the design. There is no simple answer to this question but the best quality art you can get makes the best quality print.
T-Shirt art should have a transparent background (.png format works well), stickers, signs and banners do not require transparency but should be vectorized for large prints.
Size matters! If you text, Facebook or messenger an art file it will come to the printer the size of a pin head and when we blow it up to print it is a mess unless it's VECTOR art which is scalable to all sizes.
Vector art extensions are file types that include AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), and PDF (Portable Document Format). Vector files are made up of mathematically defined shapes, like lines and curves, so they can be resized without losing color quality or sharpness. Please note that saving a .jpg to pdf does not make it vectorized art. A pdf has to start as vector art to end that way.
Raster Art: This includes .jpg, .png, .gif and .tif files. These must be larger files and of good quality to use for large prints such as posters, banners and signs. .png offers transfer with transparent background for use on t-shirts or placing on other backgrounds and images.
If you are creating a project in CANVA, KITTL or other art program- Share it with our printers rather than sending it to us after download.
If you need help with art, there is a fee to create for you based on the complexity of the art. We can clean up some files for free but if the job requires major clean up and vectorization there will be a one time art fee and the artwork will be yours to keep for future jobs in the cleaned format.
Our pricing varies depending on the quantity of t-shirts ordered, the type of t-shirt material, and the complexity of the design. We custom quote each job. I have published a general guide line for some print jobs herein. Email, text or call for custom quotes.
We can provide economy shirts, mid range value, or high quality brands.
Yes, we offer eco-friendly t-shirt options made from organic cotton (all cotton is organic to start with, the process it goes through is where the breakdown happens) and recycled materials. Please contact us for more information.
